Tupelo, Mississippi- January 26, 2014 – Lighthouse Web Designs, LLC, a Tupelo-based web design and development firm, is pleased to announce its new partnership with Binare, a local technical group specializing in IT securities. It’s a move that will bring strengthened security and web functionality to all of Lighthouse Web Designs’ clients, both current and future. %3Cbr%3E While the transition was only just completed in the beginning of January 2014, Richelle Anderson, Founder and Owner of Lighthouse, has high hopes for where this new partnership will take her firm in the future. “Our hope is that by joining the group we will network, contribute, and grow with other programmers and IT managers from around the area,” Anderson notes. “By joining the group we will stay up to date on the latest security issues that will impact our clients and their websites.” %3Cbr%3E The move couldn’t come at a better time for Anderson and the rest of the Lighthouse Web Designs team. Recent statistics from the FBI show that cybercrime has reached an all-time high, with over 280,000 cases reported annually. By joining with Binare, Lighthouse can protect its clients as well as itself from the prying eyes of increasingly aggressive cybercriminals. %3Cbr%3E Having said that, becoming a member of Binare not only marks a new step forward for relations with current clients, but it’s also a chance for Lighthouse Web Designs to draw in new customers who place a premium on security by building a stronger, highly-skilled in-house design and development team. That, Anderson says, is one of the key reasons she decided to join with Binare in the first place. “We also hope to develop relationships in the group to acquire additional business and to refer our clients to qualified programmers if the need arises for them. Another member, who is also an instructor, has offered Lighthouse interning opportunities. We hope this will give upcoming web designers a good experience and [they will] look forward to a career in website design and development.” %3Cbr%3E The change is certainly paying off for the Lighthouse team so far. Anderson excitedly points out that the response to joining Binare has been “really positive since the group is highly respected.” That response is echoed both within the company and with Lighthouse Web Design’s growing clientele. %3Cbr%3E Lighthouse Web Designs, LLC is located at 1020 North Gloster Street #160 Tupelo, MS. During our latest interview with Christina L. Veschi, VP of Business Operations at EdgeAccess, Inc, we learned what motivated her to rise to the VP level and what brings her the most joy in her job at EdgeAccess. What made you want to rise to become a VP of a business? Christina L. Veschi: I wanted to be the final authority when it came to business decisions. In my previous life people with no real-world experience in my area of expertise were the final decision makers and quite often made the wrong decision. I further wanted to work with only the people and organizations that I choose to work with as opposed to having those relationship dictated to me as well. At the end of the day, the bottom line is I wanted to be in a position to focus on the service that we provide as opposed to the bottom line. My philosophy has always been if you take care of your customers your bottom line will take care of itself. What is the biggest challenge when it comes to running EdgeAccess? Christina L. Veschi: I would have to say the technology and employees are the easy part, it is the unknown factors that create challenge. What is the biggest reward of being a VP? Christina L. Veschi: The greatest reward of all is the ability to give the customers exactly what we promise, and being in the position to make that call without permission from someone else that would most certainly take a shortcut to save a few pennies. What’s the most frustrating part of your job? Christina L. Veschi: Finding and attracting good quality employees who are interested in more than just a paycheck, employees who connect the dots between performance, delivery, and success. What makes for a bad day on the job? Christina L. Veschi: The worst day in anyone’s life as a business owner is when they fail to perform. My word is my bond. When factors outside of my control alter a commitment I made, it is a very bad day indeed. We all have our failures, but I strive to make mine very few and very far between. Let’s end on a positive note! Please describe your best day as a VP. Christina L. Veschi: The life of a business owner is akin to Bill Murray in the movie Groundhog Day. My best day as a business owner comes each and every time we successfully complete a project. And each and every time we deliver something to a customer, we do it better, the project goes smoothly, and the feeling of satisfaction is even greater than the last one! The satisfaction that comes along with giving the customer a tool that will reduce their workload and make their employees more efficient and at the same time allow them to do more with less can only be described as AWESOME! There is no feeling in the world like the feeling you get when you accomplish a goal that you set for yourself. During our interview with EZ Trading Computers COO Russ Hazelcorn, we learned about how he wanted to simplify the entire trading process, and present the necessary information to his customers in a way that was never previously available. What was it that led you to create your own business? Russ Hazelcorn: One day I did a Google search for “trading computers.” What I saw appalled me. Traders were being gouged on prices. When I tried to buy a trading computer myself, I found the process to be very confusing. I felt like traders were being ripped off. I couldn’t stand for it, so I created my own company to making buying a trading computer easy, hence my company’s name, “EZ” Trading Computers. Can you describe your business to us in detail? Russ Hazelcorn: We specialize in educating traders on the technology used for trading, so they can make an intelligent computer purchase. We then provide the final product. We sell high performance computers direct to traders online. You can’t buy our computers at box store. These aren’t computers for gamers either. Our computers have military grade components, the fastest processor, graphics cards with their own processors, and special cooling systems. We’ve created a methodology for making sure all these components work together so they are ultra-reliable. Most of our customers are individuals trading their own portfolios online. Our customers are power users, compared to those just checking email and surfing the web. For our customers, all their data has to be streamed in real time and drawn as charts and indicators. If their computer can’t keep up with the incoming stream of data, they will lose money–every millisecond counts. On any given day they are trading on major platforms, like Tradestation, NinjaTrader, MetaTrader, FXCM, ThinkorSwim. They are also streaming news, video, and online meeting platforms simultaneously. Doing all these activities at once would cripple an over-the-counter computer. Can you tell us about any unexpected obstacles that have crept up during the course of your business? Russ Hazelcorn: One thing that always surprises me is the number of traders still using old technology. Fifty percent of visitors to my website are still using Windows XP, which I can tell from our web analytics. This is a real risk to traders and most hardware and software isn’t optimized for XP. Traders really put their money at stake when they don’t have the most current tools. Besides, XP came out over 10 years ago in 2001. Have you ever thought about giving up? Russ Hazelcorn: No, I never wanted to give up. Even when frustrated, or when sales slowdown, I never want to give up. I love what I do. It’s the challenge of it. Finally, when it comes to running your own business, what is the most rewarding part? Russ Hazelcorn: For me, the most rewarding part is getting to talk to traders on a daily basis. I love the challenge of figuring out how to meet their technology needs. Every situation is different. It keeps me on my toes. Also, I love being my own boss; I could never work for anyone.
